Blogging: Take 2

I've decided to give blogging another go, for a number of reasons I suppose. The timing of this, most definitely coincides with the impending arrival of baby #2! I am the worlds worst when it comes to documenting Lizzie's life. Sadly, she has an almost blank baby book and I wrote virtually nothing down. Not to mention, I feel as though I have utterly failed to document our life via photos since we moved back to Texas. When I had tons of family blowing up my phone with text messages for the latest of Lizzie, I was constantly snapping away. Now that we're all so close, I just don't get out the camera enough. I'm hoping that I'll hate the sight of a photo-less blog, and make an effort to keep the camera handy, or at least charged!

As for my blog title, "Eight 8 Mama," it is a self appointed title stemming from the fact that Silas is due to arrive on Lizzie's birthday, 8/8. Now, let's all hope and pray that I don't carry him to 40 weeks, because Lizzie was nearly nine pounds at 39 weeks and probably would have been 10 in another 7 days. Somehow I managed to do it the old fashioned way, although I did have an epidural, it most definitely didn't work. Point being, I'd welcome him a week or two early, in hopes that he'll be a tad smaller than his big sister. So even if they don't share a birthday, I will always think of 8/8 as a doubly special day for me, as a mother, and embrace my self appointed title of Eight-8-Mama, regardless of his actual birthday.

On a side note, I am completely confused by the process of changing my background, so it's going to be, at least temporarily, lame. Hopefully I get that figured out shortly.

I could go on about a thousand things right now that seem oh so important and blog worthy, but I'm going to save something for another post and leave you with this picture of Lizzie in Baton Rouge last week. This is her "pirate mask." When she holds it up to her face she always says, "ARR!" I don't think she knows about mardi gras. We had a lovely day touring the Houmas House Plantation, which may just get a post of it's own this week. This little spot she's sitting in outside the gift shop does this place no justice at all, it was stunning!
